In May 2012, Dr. Viglione completed the first ever stem-cell fellowship offered in the world. She was one of sixteen to complete the fellowship offered by the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. In December 2012, Dr. Viglione became one of 700 to receive board certification in Anti-Aging Medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Her education afforded her the opportunity to hear experts on the frontier of stem cell medicine from Universities all over the world. She is familiar with the latest applications of stem cell medicine in humans and in animals.
She is trained in obtaining and injecting platelet rich plasma (PRP) and adult stem cell harvesting from bone marrow aspiration and adipose (fat) tissue. These adult stem cells can then be injected back into various tissues in the body to help regenerate and heal them. In the United States, very little can be done outside of a research setting; however, there are a few applications that are allowed by the FDA such as joint injections and cosmetic procedures.
