Functional Medicine in Gulf Breeze, FL

If you have been told everything looks normal but you still do not feel well, functional medicine may offer a different path. We investigate how your gut, hormones, immune system, stress and environment interact, and build a plan around what we find.

Asking why, not just what

Functional medicine treats the whole person rather than a single organ or lab value. Fatigue, bloating, joint pain or skin flares may share a common thread, such as inflammation, nutrient gaps, a disrupted gut or lingering stress on the body. Looking for that thread may help guide care, though results vary from person to person.

Your first visit is lengthy by design. Dr. Viglione reviews your timeline from childhood forward, including infections, medications, diet, sleep and life events. Testing is then chosen to answer specific questions, and may include expanded blood work, stool analysis, nutrient levels and other advanced panels.

Your plan typically combines food-based changes, targeted supplements, sleep and stress strategies and, when appropriate, prescription therapy. We check in regularly and adjust the plan as your symptoms and results change.

Functional medicine questions

We rely on established testing and published research where it exists, and we are transparent when evidence is still developing. Many strategies, such as nutrition, sleep and exercise, have strong support.

It varies, and results are not guaranteed. Some patients notice changes within weeks, while complex or long-standing conditions often take several months of steady work.

No. We never ask you to stop prescribed medication on your own. Any changes are made together with you and your prescribing doctors.

Coverage for advanced labs differs by plan, and some tests are paid out of pocket. We discuss options before ordering anything.
