Potenza RF Microneedling

Potenza combines tiny microneedles with radiofrequency energy to stimulate your skin’s natural repair response. Many patients consider it for the look of skin laxity, acne scars, enlarged pores and fine wrinkles, and results vary.

Collagen renewal, from within

The Potenza handpiece creates thousands of microscopic channels in the skin while delivering radiofrequency energy at a chosen depth. This controlled stimulation may encourage the skin to produce new collagen and elastin over the following weeks, though response differs from person to person.

Different tips and depths let us customize the treatment for the face, neck or body, and for your particular concern. Thicker skin and scarring may need deeper settings, while delicate areas need a lighter pass.

Some patients ask about adding exosomes to the skin after treatment. No exosome product is FDA-approved for this use, and evidence for any benefit is limited, so we do not claim that they improve healing or appearance. We will explain what is known so you can decide whether to include them.

Who it helps

Patients concerned about:

  • Acne scars
  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Mild skin looseness or crepey texture
  • Uneven texture
  • Early changes along the jawline

What to expect

  1. 1Prep and numbing. Your skin is cleansed and topical numbing is applied so treatment is comfortable.
  2. 2Treatment. We glide the device over the area, adjusting depth as we go. You may feel warmth and light pressure.
  3. 3Recovery. Skin looks pink and feels tight, like mild sunburn. Gentle skincare and daily sunscreen are important afterward.

Technology in skilled hands

Outcomes depend on technique as well as technology. Dr. Viglione, Amy Schram, APRN and Brandy Nicholson, APRN select depth and energy settings based on your skin type, health history and goals.

Microneedling questions

Many patients do a series of about three treatments several weeks apart, then occasional maintenance. Acne scarring may take more.

The added radiofrequency energy heats deeper skin layers, which some providers use hoping for a greater tightening effect than needles alone; individual results vary.

Suitability depends on your skin type, history and goals. RF microneedling carries a risk of pigment changes, so we assess your skin in person first and use conservative settings.

Exosomes are small particles released by cells. No exosome product is FDA-approved for use with microneedling, and evidence is limited. They are entirely optional, and you do not need them for treatment.
