Exosome Therapy

Exosomes are tiny messenger particles that carry signals between cells. Applied topically to the skin after microneedling or laser, they are being explored to support healing and renewal on the face, scalp and body.

Messengers for skin renewal

Cells release exosomes as part of normal communication, and researchers are studying their role in repair, inflammation and collagen. In a treatment, a topical exosome product is applied right after microneedling or laser creates tiny channels in the skin. The product is a commercially prepared, non-autologous biologic, meaning it does not come from your own body, and it is not FDA-approved.

Patients often choose this pairing to help skin recover more comfortably and to support a fresher look, including fine lines, uneven tone and texture. It can also be paired with scalp treatments for thinning hair. Some patients report a brighter look within days and gradual changes over several weeks, though evidence is limited and results vary. A short series is often discussed.

What to expect

  1. 1Skin assessment. We review your skin, goals and history to choose the treatment area and the best pairing.
  2. 2Prep and micro-channels. The skin is cleansed and numbed, then microneedling or laser is used to prepare it.
  3. 3Exosome application. The exosome product is applied right away. Expect pinkness and mild tightness for a couple of days, and use sunscreen.

Exosome therapy questions

They are microscopic packets released by cells that carry signaling molecules. In skin care they are applied topically after a procedure. The products we use are commercial and non-autologous, not made from your own body.

No. Exosomes are not cells. They are messenger particles, and a topical treatment does not involve injecting living cells.

Most patients have pinkness and mild sensitivity for a few days after microneedling or laser. Sun protection is important during that time.

Not yet. Human evidence for these uses is limited, research is ongoing, and exosome products are not FDA-approved. We talk through what is known so you can decide with realistic expectations.
