PRP Hair Restoration
Thinning hair can affect confidence at any age. Our non-surgical approach centers on PRP and PRF, with optional exosomes, to support the follicles you still have, with no incisions and very little downtime.
How PRP is used for thinning hair
Hair thins when follicles shrink and their growth phase shortens. Growth factors from your own platelets are used to nourish the scalp and may support follicles that are still present but underperforming. Some plans add an optional topical exosome product, applied after scalp microneedling. Exosomes are not required, and they are unapproved products with limited human evidence for hair.
Treatment works best when thinning is caught early or is mild to moderate. We begin by asking about your hair history and reviewing your health, because thyroid, hormone and nutrient imbalances can all contribute to hair loss. Some patients report less shedding and finer new growth over several months, though outcomes are not guaranteed, and this approach is not designed to restore areas that are completely bald.

Men and women who are noticing:

- Thinning at the crown
- Receding temples
- More hair in the brush or drain
- Postpartum or stress-related shedding
- Finer, weaker strands
What to expect
- 1Evaluation. We review your history and may check labs to look for underlying causes of hair loss.
- 2Preparation. A small blood sample is drawn and processed to concentrate platelets. Your scalp is numbed with a topical or local anesthetic.
- 3Treatment. The platelet concentrate is placed across the thinning areas. If you choose exosomes, a topical exosome product is applied afterward to the scalp following microneedling. You can usually return to normal activities right away.

Hair changes can sometimes reflect thyroid or hormone changes. Dr. Viglione and her team review possible contributing factors alongside your scalp treatment, so your plan considers your overall health too.
Hair restoration questions
How many treatments will I need?
Many patients begin with a series of about three sessions spaced roughly a month apart, followed by occasional maintenance visits. Your plan depends on the degree of thinning.
When will I see results?
Hair grows slowly. Some patients see less shedding first, with possible thickening after about 3–6 months. Individual results differ.
Does it work for women as well as men?
Both women and men may be candidates, especially when thinning is mild to moderate. We also check for hormone and thyroid contributors, which are common in women, and results vary.
Is the treatment painful?
Your scalp is numbed first. Most patients describe mild pressure and a bit of tenderness for a day afterward.
